One sunny day, a giant squid darted across the deep blue sea. The Sun's radiance could not reach the squid, but this did not bother him. He had no concept of light, much less a sunny day. And so, the giant squid happily went about his giant squid chores, tending to his garden, checking his mail, and cracking open a cold can of seahorse blood or whatever it is that giant squids drink when they're relaxing by the television.
The giant squid began to nod off when a diver stumbled into his mancave. The diver's headlight illuminated every inch. "¡Dios mío!" shouted the diver upon seeing the squid. Shielding his eyes, the giant squid turned to the diver.
"Do you... hablo English?"
"Yeah, yeah I do," said the diver, grabbing a spot on the sofa.
"What is all this?" inquired the squid, gesturing his tentacle across the room.
"Light," responded the diver. "It's like the Sun."
"The Sun?"
"The celestial body that fills you with warmth and grants you the power to see and admire the world around you."
The diver got up, grabbed a can of seahorse blood for the road, and headed out.
"Adios," said the diver.
The giant squid did not respond. The diver shut the door and the squid was in darkness once more. He wiped away a tear.
